Hot Wheels

Antique, Vintage, Classic and Contemporary Cars and Motorcycles

June 20 – July 25, 2020
 
Artists are invited to submit entries for Hot Wheels, an exhibit of images of all or parts of antique, vintage, classic, and contemporary cars and motorcycles in any media, techniques or styles.
                       
 
GUIDELINES:
 
~ Consider ~
>  Images might be realistic, expressive, altered, abstracted, or invented interpretations.
> Cars, motorcycles, or the people and environments related to them 
must be part of the compositions.
>  Works might take the forms of drawings, paintings, photographs, prints, 
mixed media, sculpture, fibers, glass, books, or installations. 
 
 >   Actual car or motorcycle parts could serve as surfaces or elements of the pieces.
>  All sizes, media (except video), styles, and formats will be accepted for consideration.
(Giclee prints of photographs or digital pieces are acceptable; giclee prints of pastels,
watercolors, acrylics, oils and other non-digital media should not be submitted.)
 
>  Artists may submit up to 5 works for judging.
>  Shipped work will be accepted. Artists are required to supply 
pre-paid return shipping labels with accepted work.
 
>  Applications are to be submitted through the online site Entrythingy.com, using the code
which is a direct link to the Hot Wheels entry form.
 
>  Questions or problems with submitting to this site should be sent to Tall Grass at 708.748.3377.
 
             
 
RULES:
 
>  Works should not have been shown at Tall Grass Gallery in the last 2 years.
>  Completed applications, entry fees, and jpeg images must be submitted to
www.EntryThingy.com through this link:
>  2-dimensional work must be wired and ready to hang; no sawtooth hangers please.
>  All 2D and 3D works that require special installation procedures must be installed 
by the artists themselves.
>  Curators reserve the right to refuse work that does not meet the requirements
 or is considered too fragile or too heavy for installation.
>  All work remains on exhibit for the duration of the show.
>  Unless requested otherwise by the artist, permission is given to Tall Grass to use 
any images of exhibited work for publicity or educational purposes.
  
FEES AND COMMISSION:
 
>  A non-refundable entry fee of $30 for up to 5 entries must accompany
 the entry form at the time of submission.
>  The gallery retains a 30% commission from any sales of work during the exhibit.
>  Work may be marked NFS.
 
AWARDS:
 
>  Awards will be given for First, Second and Third Place, and for three Honorable Mentions.
>  Curators for the exhibit are Deborah Craemer, Tall Grass Gallery Committee member and     curator for several Tall Grass exhibits, and Claudia Craemer, artist, juror and curator for numerous regional solo and group exhibits.
> Jurors are Deborah Craemer, Claudia Craemer, and award-winning artist and curator, Richard Schmidt.
 
DATES:
 
– Exhibit dates: June 20 – July 25, 2020
– Deadline for entries: April 3, 2020
– Email Notification of acceptance: April 18, 2020
– Delivery of accepted entries: June 7, 8, 9, 2020 
– Opening Reception for exhibit:  Saturday, June 20, 1-3pm
– Final day of exhibit on view: July 25, 2020
– Dates for pick-up of exhibited work: July 26, 27, 28, 2020
