Tall Grass Arts Association is located within the downtown of the Village of Park Forest but serves the southern suburbs of Illinois.  It is a 65-year-old organization whose mission is “To promote public education and appreciation of the arts; to encourage artists; and to support high quality art through exhibitions, sales, classes and special programs available to the public of all ages.” Tall Grass operates a gallery with exhibits that change every six weeks, a school for children and adults and the annual Park Forest Art Fair.  

Tall Grass is seeking an Executive Director.  The position is part time and contractual.  The Executive Director also manages the Tall Grass Art School.

The Director is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the gallery and gift shop; however, scheduling and curating exhibits are the responsibility of the Gallery Committee. The Director is responsible for marketing the gallery with the assistance of the Marketing/Fund Raising Committee.  The Director is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school.  This effort is supported by the School Committee.  The Director is responsible for financial oversight of the gallery and school; however, financial responsibilities such as bookkeeping, accounting, bank deposits, reconciliation of sales, payments to artists and provision of materials for the annual audit are the responsibility of a part-time bookkeeper.
