About Us

About Us

Tall Grass Arts Association promotes public education and appreciation of visual art through exhibitions, classes and the Park Forest Art Fair.

Mission and History
Since 1956, TGAA has served artists, children, and the south suburban communities of Chicago in some of the most ethnically diverse and artistically and economically underserved communities in Illinois. Our mission statement, and thus our major goal, is to promote public arts; to encourage artists; and to support high quality visual arts programming through art school classes, exhibits, gallery and mini gallery/gift shop sales, the annual Park Forest Art Fair and special programs accessible to the general public of all ages. In recent years, TGAA has made great strides in developing and expanding its arts programming in an effort to reach out to artists, children, seniors, and the general public.  We believe our goals have been met, annually.

Pursuit of Excellence
Our current goals are to maintain a gallery that displays the works of as many Illinois artists as possible, to operate an art fair that is reasonably priced so artists can participate and to establish class prices that encourage participation by low-income children and adults.
